Her husband was upset when he discovered that she had left and called her ridiculous and irrational for her actions. He accused her of acting ungratefully and causing embarrassment in front of his family, even though he had insisted on her going on the trip in the first place. After their argument, he gave her the silent treatment when he returned home. Additionally, her husband's family indirectly criticized her on Facebook for what she did.
